A Day Off

We decided to stay here in Houma today and drive over to New Orleans for dinner in the French Quarter.  As I mentioned we are not able to get to NO by boat due to an access channel being closed until 2011.  We didn't want to wait that long ;-)  This morning as I was doing 'boat chores' a small boat pulled up to the dock and three armed U.S. Customs and Boarder Patrol officers climbed out and came to our boat for an inspection.  What gives?  Last week we were stopped by the Coast Guard. Anyhow we had to produce identification and boat papers while they went about their inspection.  They crew didn't spend much time on or boat and then went to the other boat at the dock.  After they left the owner of the other boat said they went through clothes in drawers, checked under floorboards and asked allot more questions than they asked us. They always asked for your port of origin, the last port you departed and destination. You can rest assured, your government is at work protecting you.....

Tomorrow we will be back at making our way east in the GCICW.

Y'all stay vertical,

Capt John and First Mate Sue
and Colby, too
